Butter to Olive Oil Conversion

We are posting the chart below to help you make the healthiest choices possible. There are many situations when you can use Olive Oil or Infused Olive Oils instead of butter. Making the choice to replace butter with olive oil is much healthier for you. But remember, it is only healthier if you are replacing previously consumed saturated fat with "healthy fats" (e.g. 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil) versus adding more fat into your diet.

Olive oil is high in heart healthy monounsaturated fat, and is rich in cancer fighting anti-oxidants. Flavored olive oils will add great taste to baked foods and other dishes. Because butter has water and milk solids in addition to fat, we reduce the total amount of measured fat by 25%. In critical recipes, you may need to add a tad bit of water.

Butter/EVOO conversion…This chart can help you convert the quantity of butter called for in a recipe to the required quantity of extra virgin olive oil.
